What a Rebranding Overhaul Can Do for Your Business (HINT: Work Wonders)

by Michelle Salater on November 8, 2010

Rebranding your business can seem overwhelming, frightening, and exhausting. But I assure you, with the right help, tips, and advice to get the job done right—the first time—you’ll find that rebranding isn’t only essential for your business success, but that it’s also an exciting process.

One of our wonderful clients and owner of Weddings by Chris Sherburne Photography, Chris Sherburne, recently revamped his entire company image through a rebranding overhaul. During this process he received a new logo, fresh online marketing strategy, print collateral, and brand message.

So what was the result of all of these efforts? See below.

1. What inspired you to rebrand your business, and what challenges did you face during your decision process?

I really wanted to make sure the message that I was sending to my potential clients was consistent throughout the process. From the first time they see my blog, website, emails, or receive actual USPS mail correspondence, I wanted them to see consistency and professionalism. I have to admit that the most challenging part of the decision-making process was to look at my business from the outside in and see things from the customer’s viewpoint.

2. How has your new website affected your workload and the way others view your photography business?

The new website has worked out great because now that the branding is complete, I have heard from several customers that they are confident that I have a superior or high-end product. I have booked clients over the telephone who stated during our interview that they saw the website, loved it, and knew all they needed to know about me from the site. They booked me without asking any of the typical questions.

3. What would you suggest to other business owners who are contemplating rebranding their business?

I would say that rebranding your business is extremely important because it sets you apart from your competition. Now looking back, I realize that what my clients saw of me did not set me apart and my business had the typical blah results. The rebranding process also helped me to become more aware of the exact type of business that I wanted to have and helped to get me there. I highly recommend rebranding and fine-tuning your business model to get you the results you’re looking for.
