Inspiration for Finally Giving Your Brand the Facelift It Deserves

One of our recent web copy clients, Family Tree Tours, decided that it was time to stand above the competition and grow their business. With this realization, Family Tree Tours hired Sumèr to revamp their brand image with optimized web copy.

We interviewed Kathy Wurth, founder of Family Tree Tours to find out what inspired her to revamp the website design and hire Sumèr to write her web copy. Below, Kathy shares with us her inspirations for making over her brand image and the results she’s seen so far.

1. What inspired you to revamp your website design and web copy?

Being a small business owner for a few years now and having been through several transitions of a website, I felt it was time to go as professional as possible. We also saw exposure through links from some heavy traffic sites and I wanted my brand and our services told in a clear, concise manner. I felt I needed help with doing that.

2. Your company is extremely unique, providing clients with remarkable trips that enable them to learn more about their family roots. Were you at all concerned that a web copywriter and / or designer wouldn’t be able to translate your brand message onto your website? If so, how did you feel after your site was redesigned and your web copy revamped?

I wasn’t sure how the process worked with my expressing how I wanted the site to read, but Michelle and her team were very open to hearing what I had to say and re-working any copy that I felt needed more clarification. I was very happy with how it all turned out.

3. What results have you seen since having your web copy and web design done? What results do you hope to see in the future?

I definitely have seen more traffic to our site and visitors have even been spending more time on the site. This tells me that people are reading more and taking the time to understand what our services are. This, hopefully, will translate to them remembering us when they decide to make a trip of a lifetime.

4. For other businesses who offer unique services, such as yourself, would you advise them to get their website and web copy redone? Why or why not?

Yes, I would recommend other businesses to assess their site. Sometimes you need another eye to review and tell your story so everyone can understand.

5. What would you say to others about the experience you had with Sumèr writing your web copy?

Before hiring Sumèr to write our web copy, our site was adrift and alone in the big sea of travel websites. We had a redesign and Sumèr’s experienced copywriters helped tell our story and as a result we are seeing at least a 50% increase in hits and longer time spent on the site.  That is fabulous.  This should convert to more inquiries and business. My advice for those thinking of hiring Sumèr is to call them and feel the experienced and energized vibe right away.
