At Sūmèr, we find inspiration everywhere—in the newsletters we subscribe to, the webinars we attend, but especially, the blogs we read and keep coming back to!
From marketing to lifestyle, these blogs offer valuable information, entertaining content, and striking insight that shape our workdays and lives. Here are our favorite blogs to peruse and why we can’t get enough of them. Check them out, and you’ll be a fan, too:
Michelle Salater on Mashable and Evernote
Mashable is my go-to resource when I need to catch up on trends in technology, what’s going on in the social media sphere, the business tech world, or learn how people apply or maximize technology. Just take a look at the front page—there’s enough interesting content to lose an afternoon to!

The Evernote blog is a new favorite. An enthusiast of Evernote products, I just stumbled across their blog and haven’t pulled myself away since. Between their sassy tone and informative posts, I frequent the page at least a few times a day. Quick Tip Friday lets me learn more about the app, while the blog keeps me fresh on trends in the app world, how to use Evernote, and how others are using it to amp their creativity.

Jess Smith on Hubspot
I frequent the Hubspot blog for its fresh, relevant content—and the great infographics! Hubspot’s voice is funky and compelling, and their personality really shines through. As an avid blog reader, I think this one surpasses the rest because they perfectly mesh entertainment and valuable information.

John Owen on Harriet, BuzzFeed, and The Rumpus
I’d wager that Harriet is the most popular poetry blog on the Internet. And not only because it’s an offshoot of the queen mother of literary magazines (Poetry). I like the fact that this blog delivers content about new and older books, and sends me to valuable resources all over the web.

BuzzFeed is my daily pick-me-up. It’s not only funny, but culturally relevant. Most of the content is organized in list form with hilarious photographs and commentary. One of my favorite features is the “Pictures That Will Restore Your Faith in Humanity” that they publish at the end of each year.

The Rumpus blog encapsulates almost everything I love. When I visit The Rumpus, I’m treated to articles on new books, movies, music, and other humanities. The writing is sharp, intelligent, and remains focused on its audience.

Ruth Awad on Gala Darling and Jezebel
Gala Darling is my guilty pleasure blog—it’s like eating chocolate after a long day. It’s a cross between a lifestyle and self-help blog, and it always lifts my spirits. There’s a certain whimsy that I appreciate, and Gala’s eccentric style is captivating. I could probably do without the mouse ears though. Or could I?

Then there’s Jezebel for when I need to get my feminism on or catch up on current events accompanied by candid, conversational commentary. I find myself browsing this blog at least once a day for my daily dose of pop culture, lifestyle, and politics.

Give these blogs a whirl and tell us what you think!
