Imagine your website as not only a tool to get your brand recognized, but also as an experience—one that sticks with the viewer, compelling them to keep reading and to respond to the content. While the viewer reads the words glowing on their screen, their imaginations blaze with the promise your website evokes. Such a reaction is far from hypothetical—with effective website design and web copy, viewers engage with your brand in a visceral, emotional capacity.
One of our recent web copy clients, Fontenot Glass Designs, wanted a website that reflects the luxury of their custom glass art. With this incentive, Fontenot Glass Designs hired Sumer to hone their luxury brand with web copy optimized for a high-echelon market.
Carey Buckner, the founder and glass artist of Fontenot Glass Designs, works closely with architects, interior designers, and individuals to create evocative interiors. For clients looking to transform the ambiance in their office or atrium, restaurant or bar, boutique hotel lobby, or their favorite room, Fontenot Glass Designs offers the elegance that attracts an entrance.
In a seamless, collaborative endeavor, Carey listens to the needs of her clients and creates glass art specific to their expectations. Every glass piece is completely customizable, infusing them with the unique personality of the client—no two pieces are alike.
We interviewed Carey to find out what motivated her to renovate the website design and hire Sumer to write her web copy . Below, Carey shares with us her inspiration for restyling her brand image and the results she’s seen so far.

What inspired you to revamp your website design and web copy?
It’s been something I’ve been meaning to do for such a long time, but I didn’t know where to get started. After talking with Michelle and her team the first time, I got a clearer image of what I wanted to see from my website and felt inspired by the possibilities they immediately saw. Mostly, I wanted my website to reflect the feeling I’ve heard customers express after visiting my studio—that awe as they stared at the colorful glass bulbs glimmering overhead.
Your company caters to a luxury market, providing clients with custom glass lighting, fixtures, and art that creates a palpable mood for the rooms they adorn. Were you at all concerned that a web copywriter and / or designer wouldn’t be able to translate your brand message onto your website? If so, how did you feel after your site was redesigned, complete with web copy created for this market?
Before hiring Sumer to write and distribute a content marketing campaign, I spent hours every week tweaking my site and trying to get it the way I wanted. It was a daunting task that took up too much of my creative time…I was a prisoner of my website.
Throughout the makeover process, I felt that my vision was at the forefront of every interaction I had with the Sumer team—they wanted to bring my ideas to life, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
What results have you seen since having your web copy and web design done? What results do you hope to see in the future?
I feel like at last my company and my work have the professional touch that attracts the clients I am targeting. I definitely have seen more traffic to the site and visitors have even been spending more time on the site. This tells me that people are taking the time to engage with the custom glass art I create. Hopefully, it translates to attracting even more clients who appreciate one-of-a-kind art.
For other businesses who market to luxury clientele, would you advise them to get their website and web copy redone? Why or why not?
Yes, I definitely would recommend other businesses to get a fresh pair of eyes on their site. Sometimes what you think you’re communicating and what actually comes across to a reader are two wildly different things.
What would you say to others about the experience you had with Sumrr writing your web copy?
Having Sumer write my web copy has been a dream come true—a seamless and enjoyable process, and everyone on the team was exceptional! They were able to really understand my company brand and capture that in my web copy. Now I am no longer spend time hassling with my site and can focus all my creative energy into my work. Honestly, the Sumer team helped my name to finally reflect the caliber of work I create.
